Ok, I am getting the message ;) I have just looked for ordering a new wireless hub :D I also want to order a new battery for an old laptop (the one I fixed :D) so that I can use that at university. They have a wireless network there I can download on with a couple of megabytes per second :D Hello HD-movies! So I will see if I can order a new battery & wireless hub at the same time :)

Welcome. But don't be too confident on this one. If somebody listens (and somebody always does :)) ) can easily get your MAC adress, while connected to the router, and he can replicate it. So take care, and check your logs frequently. :))

Btw, I can't do WPA on the wireless hub (ooooooold one :P) so I have 128WEP. I know it CAN be cracked, but I have specified the MAC-addresses that can use it. But I might need to replace it, y. Btw, that is only used for internet with some laptops here, the network is cabled :P Old-fashioned, but I prefer it for my stationary pcs ;) But ty for letting me know :)

Don't use WEP, use WPA with at least a 10 char passphrase. WEP can be cracked in minutes. You just need to listen when somebody logs in.

Soooo, yesterday when I came home, my internet was still very borked. Disconnecting all the time etc. Then this morning there was no signal AT ALL. So I phoned the ISP and they told me that something was getting replaced atm! :) So that it should be up & running this afternoon! :) So hopefully I will see you all again from home this afternoon :D This is at the university again, I have my presentation at 11 and I want to practice here a bit ;)

I tried to check it yesterday, but my connection was too flaky :( It looked rather complicated though :D But is it that easy to get onto someone's connection?
