At the moment I am trying to design primers which I need to order & I am writing a protocol for the use of these primers for PCR. I want to make a smal mutation in a so called motorprotein, Kinesin I. By taking a cysteine-free mutant to start with, then changing 1 amino acid to a cysteine (by using my primers with an incorporated mutation in a PCR procedure with the cysteinefreemutant in a vector XD), I have a vector with a gene for a motorprotein with a reactive group to which I can link stuff, like fluorescent dyes :D Interesting, huh ;) I will shut up now :D

But it's rather stressfull, because I am just left to myself :P It's "ok, we want to see the influence of changing ATP concentrations on the actions of a motorprotein & we want to be able to say stuff about the stepsize, the exact walking-mechanism" and then I am supposed to do that :D

Oh well, back to work ^^ But at least I'm with some friendly people in a room atm ;) Got my own working place and key to the building etc :P :D

As the ork said: work, work ... well, welcome to the real world Neo :) But let's hope that your work will be interesting, so it will be a lot of fun, not just misery from 9 till 5. :)

Hello & welcome back all ^^

I have a large announcement to make :P From tomorrow on I'll be starting an internship for my master program. This is my so called "major", which is supposed to be 42 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) points, which is about 30 weeks AKA 7 months. I'll probably take 1 month vacation during the summer, but I'll be under employment till about the end of november. I'll be working at a physics department of my university (oh joy :P (not really ;))).

So, from tomorrow on I will probably have regular workdays from 9 to 5 (no payment though :o :D) unless an experiment is going extremely well, which will cause me to stay a bit longer. If stuff like that happens and there is a very important event going on that evening I'll try communicate that to you guys ;)

So, I just thought I'd fill you guys in on what I'll be doing the rest of this year :D I'm not really looking forward to it, because I am a very lazy person when it comes to work ;)
