Anyone know when the expansion will come out now? On a dutch webshop's site, it read that it would come out at the end of MAY!! How true is that, anyone know? :D The internet gives conflicting results, I have also seen people say it would be the end of 2006 :(

Though I understand the basis of what I'm doing, I don't fully understand everything I will have to do yet, I need to learn some (read: lots of) stuff along the way ;) But what I am doing now is not very complicated, its just on a rather small scale. We are talking changes in DNA of 3 basepairs & using bacteria to produce the protein we want, then movement of nanometers per step & speeds of just under 1 micrometer per second of those proteins (they are walking proteins! :D). And changing the DNA of a relatively simple organism like a bacterium is also not all that complicated, so maybe if you don't know the background it sounds complicated, but it's not that bad.

But my major goal was just to let people I play with know what I would be doing the next year, so that they would understand my gametimes ;) So I will not be boring all you guys with science-stuff on a daily basis :D No worries ;)

But cloning myself? :D I wish!! :D It would be very cool, another Ender to play games with, discuss books, comics & movies with ;) :D Maybe he would have rolled a warrior, then together with my paladin we'd be a perfect PvP pair :D

Ah, lol Ender, don't get this the wrong way, it always baffles me that people actually understand science to such depths. It is in fact interesting, though it would take me to some lengths to really understand it. But now I get the picture: you are cloning yourself, which is good. Now you can wow 24/7 and not just as a phrase :twisted:

No, I'm not trying to clone myself :D I am changing something in a sequence of DNA which will be inserted into a bacterium so that that bacterium will produce a slightly different protein. I want to do some experiments with that protein :D

Btw, Uruwiel, your procedure sounds very professional, which university do you go too? 8) It sounds like your teachers are Spider-Man, Herbert West Re-Animator & Ronald McDonald, how far am I from the truth? :P

ZomG Ender, just say you are trying to clone yourself, thats pretty much it :D A lot of little shiny gnome like ( like: mini me :D) Enders running around sounds fun :D. Actually I tried to clone myself once with a technique from the TV (involves a heavily radioactive cheeseburger component, some lightnin and thunder from the heavens during a wild storm and a microvave connected directly to your brain.) but it didnt work :(

Well, it sounds interesting to me ... ok, I don't understand a word of it, but if I would probably it would be interesting :) Of course this stuff is totally unknown for me, maybe if I would have spent my half life learning it, I would find it boring as well ;)

I have no idea, why the servers started, but I was doing the quest in Winterspring, where you ahev to escort the nightelf lady troug the wildkins to visit some caves ... and she was at the top of the mountain, she summoned the ghosts, and ... tadamm, LOG OUT :)

Haha :D It's not as bad as you make it out to be ;) What I am doing atm is basic biochemistry, something I have not done for about 2 years, so I have to pick it up again too ;) But if this is your field, you'll understand it and it's one of the most basic procedures because there are relatively few steps. You just create a sequence that is complementary to a certain DNA sequence, then you use a PCR procedure to duplicate that sequence, with a mutation if you put that in the sequence you created at the start. I am not too good at explaining it through a forum though :D

And theo, I guess you are pulling my leg? :D But I just wanted to let Bucsa know it was not very entertaining yet :D But I hope to eventually (read: in a few months) to come with some usable info for science :D
